ArchBot - The Pin Archivist!

ArchBot is a Discord bot conceived to get around the 50 pinned messages limit.

Be it a very old channel with tons of messages you wish to keep, or a group that just really enjoys to pin things, ArchBot can help you maintaining your greatest quotes!

Getting Started

When the bot is first invited to the server, an archive category must be created with ?arch start.

Tracking a Channel

To automatically archive the pinned messages of a channel, add it to the track list with ?arch track.

A new channel should be created under the archive category.

Pinning a Message

If your current channel is being tracked, ArchBot will automatically copy your pinned messages to the correct archive.

Just pin it!

And the message is properly archived, with a link for its original source.

Why ArchBot?

Yes, the pin limit is not a new issue, and several server owners have been requested that it be increased as a feature. However, while Discord doesn't seem to be moving in that direction, a bot is our next best solution.

While we could find a couple of bots that also intended to solve the issue, ArchBot is unique in providing individual archives for each tracked channel, respecting their own custom settings and permissions (including NSFW and private channels!).

Development

ArchBot was created as a request for a specific Discord server, but it was made to be useful for everyone that wants to get around their pin limits!

Although I still consider it to be under testing, it has been running without issues for several weeks!

I do intend to expand its functionalities and make it properly available soon.
